Avatar Problem

I know we've beat this to the ground, but I'm having problems with my avatar. I posted one and for days it was working fine perfect no problems. Today I notice it has a little x in it. Why? When I tried to go to the directions on posting an avatar it will not come up on my computer. It seems to be taking forever to load and then it doesn't load. Is there something wrong with my avatar? If not let me know what I need to do to fix it. TIA

It's nothing that you have done wrong. Sometimes the avatars just disappear. The theory is that older files, especially if they are large, get deleted because they take up space on the server.

Just create another one in the same way you did the first one. You can use the same file that you attached to the post before, if you want to. Just go through all the steps again.

thanks for the advice however, I'm having a problem loading the directions. I guess I'll wait until I get home to fix it. Oh the joy of computers. :)

You're not doing anything wrong; I'm having the same problem. I put a new one up earlier this week and made the file very small and it still got deleted. x(

It's a problem with attachments in general. Somehow people are able to delete attachments that don't belong to them (but don't realize they're doing it).
