Since DBS is not helping us and is basically leaving us to figure this mess out on our own I thought I would post this message to see if there are any other DBS dealers that have phone numbers where I can contact Raylia Designs, Dessy, Bonny, Jordan, Forever Yours, Maggie Sottero and Alfred Angelo. I have outstanding orders with them right now for customers. I CAN NOT believe that DBS has done this and is now leaving us dealers to fend for ourselves and to somehow figure out how we are going to get our brides their orders. Today I have had so many emotions running through me I can't even begin to describe how horrible I feel. First off I feel terrible for all my brides and just want them to get their orders. Then I feel so betrayed and lied to by DBS and I am so angry. Then I also feel great sadness because I am a stay at home mom and I just had our second child and my bridal business has allowed me to stay at home with my children. I feel so sad and scared to think that I may not be able to do this anymore. I truly love what I do and I hate that my business may go under because of the choices DBS has made. I have had such a huge range of emotions today and it has just been such a bad day! Any other dealers feeling the same way please e-mail me so we can vent. I would also appreciate any advice as to how any of you are handling this and working with designers. etc etc.
Thanks for listening,
Heather

I'm with you Heather...I feel such a responsibility to my customers because they trusted me to get their merchandise to them and at the same time I can not believe that I am going to have to pull money out of my own pocket to cover their butts!

I also chose DBS because it allowed me to have a home business. I am pregnant with my first child and am actually scheduled to go into the hospital this evening for an induction (is that good timing or what???)

I found a lot of manufacturers phone numbers on the backs of catalogs that I had. Here is my question, though, will they be able to find info for my order using the PO number that I have from DBS??? What all information do I need to have on hand?

I have 18 outstanding orders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I, too, am a DBS Authorized Dealer. I have two brides who have yet to receive their bridesmaids dresses. One of them chose a Forever Yours dress. I contacted the manufacturer this morning and they refused to give me information until they hear from DBS officially (they are supposed to hear from DBS on Friday). I spoke with Crystal @ 631-951-4500. Meredith is another contact in the office. I found this phone number on the manufacturers website. So your other companies may have their contact numbers on their websites. If not, you can at least find out where the manufacturer is located and search for a phone number on www.411.com Good luck to you. You can email me at [email protected], if you'd like.

They are shipping as we speak. You can track gowns online by PO# at UPS.com to see if they have shipped. I had some ship Friday, Monday and Today, so I know they are going out. The concern is that I do not know if they are shipping exactly what the bride ordered or just something "comparable". I am asking these customers to let me know. What a nightmare for everyone.

Does anyone know what Alfred Angelo is telling the brides? Are they selling the dresses to them at wholesale or retail? HELP!! I have tried to talk to AA directly and they absolutely will not give me any answers other than they have the order.

Does anyone happen to have information on the landlord for the Martin's property in Baltimore? My fiance is actually traveling there for work next week and I found out from my dealer that my BM dresses were shipped to DBS in June, so I'm hoping they might still be sitting in the warehouse and not shipped to some other unfortunate bridesmaids! My hope is that whoever owns the building might be able to let my fiance in to see if the dresses are still there. But from the article that talked about the store opening up this weekend to sell off remaining items, I'm also afraid someone else will buy my dresses!
I waited a couple weeks before placing my order at the beginning of April and now I'm kicking myself since I might have been able to get my dresses after all had I not procrastinated. Still, who would have seen this coming?

For those of you who have contacted Dessy how long did it take them to get back with you? I had to leave a message with them around noon Eastern Time today (7/13). My dealer also left a message with Ginger this morning (she had other Dessy orders besides mine) and I emailed around the same time.

I'm sure Ginger at Dessy is incredibly busy but the wait is killing me. I just want to make sure my message doesn't get lost in the shuffle. If I don't have dresses I want to know asap so I can figure out what to do. UPS has been contacted and we do know that as of noon today the dresses hadn't been shipped.

At this point any news is good news, because it's better than not knowing!

Ginger at Dessy has been very helpful and cooperative with me. My bride's dresses were to arrive at the end of this month. I had my bride call her credit card company, who told her they would credit her account (pending an investigation, of course).

Ginger told me that my bride's gowns are there and are waiting to be shipped. As soon as I get word from my bride, I'll have them sent.

Try to be patient with Ginger...she's overwhelmed with calls and e-mails.

God's blessings to all.

Congrats on your new baby. I just had my first 8 mths ago. In the next couple of hours this mess will be put in perspective for you. Concentrate on your new baby. I have one dress out and called the mfg. You will need your PO # off your little yellow order form sent back from the service center. The mfg I'm working with is requiring me to send a certified check to them for the costs plus shipping. One of the reasons this hurts so bad is because we have not been told the truth. Never, EVER do you sweep stuff under the carpet. You must always be truthful. I do wish someone from "management" would come forward and let us know what is going on. If there is some illness (which we all have problems), then what better place then to have all these dealers pray for you. I know the sting would have been a whole lot less. You have to always do that which is right no matter what. Bankruptcy hurts everyone.....I encourage all of us to keep trying to assist each other and to come up with solutions. Enjoy your time in the hospital because you gonna be one tired "pup" for the next 6 weeks :)

not real sure about this but....if merchandise is in the warehouse and this goes to bankruptcy court, the merchandise becomes assets of the court. Merchandise will probably be "liqudated" to take care of some debt. I am not an attorney but this is my opinion on how this works based on past experience. In order to receive "secured" collateral you have to have a "lift of automatic stay" from the Bankruptcy Judge. I'm not sure you will get that. Pretty tough. I am assuming as DBS dealers we will have to file claim thru the bankruptcy court to recover some of the loss. The confusing part about all of this is why a chapter 7. Normally, for businesses you file a chapter 11 not 7. Chapter 7 & 13 I thought were normally for personal. Very intersting. Again,,,,,I'm certainly not an attorney and this is just my opinion.

I also ordered a Jessica McClintock dress for myself (the bride) and for the maid of honor. I did not think that we would receive anything from DBS because our orders were placed on June 22 and we were not supposed to receive our dresses until around September 15. I received a wedding dress with a lot of beading and what is probably a three foot train. The maid of honor received two dresses, both of which are not what was ordered. The letter enclosed in my box said that Jessica McClintock could be reached at 800-333-5301. I called on Monday, which was the first day they were open (the whole company takes a week long vacation every year, or something like that) after this whole thing came to light. As soon as I mentioned DBS, I was transfered to Merrie. I faxed her my information last night and she called me earlier today (Wednesday) to say that she would release the dresses to me for the same cost as DBS had promised. She has been a delight to work with. Also, if you're interested, I have a "Rosita" with the tags still attached. if you or anyone else is interested in either of the dresses I have, please e-mail me. By the way, for any brides in a lurch by this situation, I am under the impression that you can order anyJessica McClintock dress and receive it "next day" for about $25. In closing, I would like to say that Jessica McClintock has been amazing to work with.
