I have several apples getting ready to spoil. I would like to make some homemade applesauce for DD again, but I can't remember exactly what I did before.

Can someone refresh my memory on how to do this. :)

TIA

Applesauce

Cut apples in quarters and dcore. Add a little water. Boil. Stir occasionally until apples fall apart. Run through handcrank food mill to remove peels and stuff. This creates a nice pink applesauce if you start with rosy red apples. If you peel the apples, its the more traditional brown. Let applesauce cool before adding sugar. Add sugar to taste. Add ground cinnamon or red hots if in the mood.

Some apple varities will disintegrate on their own without having to mill them. That's when its worth peeling the apples.

If you have no food mill, just peel and core your apples then mash them with a potato masher when cooked.
