The two that I go to most often are the 'Cooks Illustrated Best Recipe' cookbook and the 'All-butter, Fresh Cream, Sugar-Packed, No-Holds-Barred Baking Book' by Judy Rosenburg (of Rosie's Bakery in Cambridge). Can't go wrong with either one.

Good Luck!

If you can find the "Mrs. Fields' Best Ever Cookie Book" that is a great book. I refer to it the most when I need a dessert idea. It has 2-3 cookie chapters but then it has pies, cakes and other desserts. She doesn't hold back with the cream, butter and all that good stuff. :) Oh, and there is a picture of each item which I really, really like in a cookbook.

I use the Pillsbury Complete Book of Baking all the time. Love it!

Beth,

I actually think I may have this one! Not for sure though.
My few cookbooks that I do have are still in Texas.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it may be a Nestle cookie
book. :)
