Does anyone have a great buttercream frosting recipe they can share? I know my frosting can be beter.

The recipe I have is butter, powedered sugar, milk.
I never knew eggs were in it. I can give it a try. I want something simple, but yummy frosting. I'm starting to bake, and want to be able to make DS's birthday cakes.

Those are the ingredients I use for mine and I feel like you do- that my frosting could be better. :) But, I am not keen on eggs in the frosting just because it kind of grosses me out (though, they may be raised to a safe temperature in the cooking process). So, don't mind me as I read on for replies too!

I do find that if I add some of my really good, high quality vanilla to it (a smidge more than the recipe calls for) the vanilla flavor really makes things yummy. I currently use Penzey's Mexican vanilla extract (they don't seem to have it on their website but they have it at the store- half the price of the Madagascar extract and v.g.!).
