Does anyone have a large griddle (double burner size) that they would recommend?

I'm trying to avoid non-stick if I can (currently only have stainless pots/pans b/c we used to have a bird).

Does anyone have a cast-iron one? I've never used cast iron before. Does it make food taste metallic-y?

I'm going to use it primarily for breakfast foods like - pancakes, french toast, fried eggs for 4. It's annoying to have to make everything in two pans and in stages.

I figured this might be a good thing to ask my brother or sister to get us for Christmas.

We have a cast iron one from Lodge that we like a lot. It is HEAVY, so that's kind of a pain. I don't notice a metallic taste at all, and once it's seasoned, cast iron is easy to care for. Ours came with a zippered case which is handy for storage.

HTH!

ETA: This is ours, but it came as part of a set with a pan and dutch oven (from Sam's or Costco I think), and I know it wasn't this expensive:

We have a Lodge double burner griddle (grill pan on opposite side) and love it. We use it all of the time.

Cast iron, once seasoned, is very easy to use. There may be a bit of a learning curve with it if you've never used cast iron, but they are awesome.
