We had a holiday gathering yesterday and a guest brought 2 loaves of baguette and I have no idea what to do with them now. I was thinking some sort of french toast type dish but I'm at a loss. Anyone have any good ideas?

I've made this recipe and it comes out pretty well. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_34162,00.html?rsrc=search

You could also make stuffing or some bruschetta.

I have ALWAYS wanted to try this recipe that Rachel Ray did on a 30 minute meal show, but I've never had the stars align so that I could make it! Sounds yummy.

Good luck, update with what you made!!!

I made this with baguettes for Thanksgiving morning (dinner was late in the day, we had guests in the AM for coffee) and it was devoured with several people asking for the recipe (which is embarrassingly easy).

We omitted the pecans, still turned out nice.

French toast would be good. I've seen it made with baguettes.

But, I thought of my favorite bread salad - http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=179&topic_id=1&mesg_id=137&page=
Panzella salad. But it's a summer type salad, using tomatos and basil. Can you get good ones in the winter? But yum! :)
