applesauce bday cake--thanks!

I couldn't find the post where I asked for this receipe, but we made it for DS's bday substituting shortening for butter (milk allergy) and mixing in shredded carrots. I also topped it off with powdered sugar. Just wanted to say THANKS for the receipe. DS loved it and ate 2 pieces. I thought it was very tasty too. The rest of the guests got to have DQ icecream cake.

I was out of town and baked the applesauce cake into cupcakes with 2 ripe bananas and 1/2 c. applesauce (one of those snackcups of applesauce. We used the ingred. on hand, and they turned out really good! So, that's another variation you could try with the receipe.
