Does anyone know if it is safe to use a cracked crockpot?? I got one for my birthday a few months ago and finally got around to using it, but before I could, DD knocked it off the counter - and it fell right on its top. Luckily, the lid was off, so it just fell on the crock part, but of course there is now a hairline crack going from one of the handles down to about 1/3 of the way down the crock. Do you think it is still safe to use it?! The manual doesn't say NOT to but I am weary of trying it if it is unsafe! Anyone used a cracked crockpot???

Please help!

TIA,
Susan

I don't know... what looks like a hairline crack might really break off when it gets heated, or maybe it is solid. I would say that if you can't return it, then definately buy those crock-pot plastic inserts to cook in. Then, if it does break off you won't get any crock in your food.

Crock pot plastic inserts? What are these and where do you buy them?

Thanks for the tip!
