Hi guys

Which are the best american companies to order from online (hat is which are the cheapest to order from and don't have you getting stuck with extra costs at the border)?

Also if you happen to have any great canadian sites let me know!

Thanks

Check the sticky at the top of this forum. It is a bit outdated, but still has loads of good links. If you tell us what you are looking for we can help you figure out the best way of getting it here. To be honest, since the sticky and this forum were created, the selection of things available in Canada has grown tremendously. There are well priced baby items available locally. I was recently amazed to see everything from Fuzzi-bunz to Ellaroo Mei Teis available locally. Just a few years ago no one had heard of either! I think that might be why the traffic here has decreased considerably.

Sorry to go off topic, but where did you find Fuzzi Bunz locally, Marina?

One of dd's just broke (of course right after the 60 day warranty expired) and I'd love to not have to wait a week for shipping.

I wonder if a "where to find?" thread would get more traffic than the Cdn Babt Gear Survivial Guide thread LOL!

I can't believe that Fuzzi-Bunz are being sold in Calgary! Wow! I wonder if Sears sells less Kushies these days, then ...

http://ecobabycanada.com/diapertypes.htm is in Lethbridge.
http://www.growinguporganic.ca/html/our_products.html is in Calgary. I could have swore they had FBs... now I can't find them. I will keep searching... I just called the owner of this company and she was a DOLL!!! She told me she stopped carrying the FBs due to her DD's allergy to polyester, but she was SUPER nice! I would order other stuff from her in a heartbeat.

She gave me the name of the local distributer who took over from her:

I found these and a bunch of other cool stuff in reading Calgary Child magazine (it is free at all the leisure centres and a bunch of other locations).

Well, there are a lot of babystuff online stores in the US (just google search). The problem is not border duties but shipping costs, they just double the cost...

It is only worth if you get a lot of items and can combine them into one package shipping.

1-

I myself shop a lot on e-bay and negotiate the official value and shipping method with the seller specially if it is a US seller. This way, the declared value is lower than the transaction price (shipping higher than the item value) so you end up paying less duties, still legally.

2-

Try the e-bay store http://stores.ebay.ca/BABY-CRIBS where you can find basic low end stuff as well as quality high end stuff. The store is located in Canada, so no import duties and if you buy from outside Ontario you only pay 5% tax.

try also www.e-childrenonline.com (canadian based)

3-If you live out West or in Vancouver like us, go to westcoastkids in Richmond, just past IKEA, they beat and match babiesRUS, TJ's and all the others.

Good luck!
