Can I just say that I adore the Stonz I bought for DD? Love, love, love them! I originally balked at spending so much on booties, but they are so well designed. I have never had luck in keeping anything on DD's feet. I will admit that she is barefoot all the time (even when we go outside). I was getting so fed up with losing socks, Robeez, you name it and then my friend told me about Stonz. They are warm, cute and well-made, but best of all - they stay on!

We love our Stonz as well. I bought them because I was not able to find boots small enough for DD (size 2 at 14 months). Well, I eventually found "real" boots but they don't stay on at all. So back to her Stonz, should have stuck with them in the first place! ;-)

I saw these the other day in Richmond Center (Baby On Board). Would they be too warm for Vancouver? They looked it. Then again, its fr-uh-eeeee-zing here right now because the wind is blowing at about a million miles an hour and it feels like my house is going to blow away like in the Wizard of Oz....

I'll have to check them out more closely.

Melissa, I've also seen them in Richmond at pinky blue, in the shopping plaza at No. 2 Road and Blundell. I think they'd be okay for this area - we have a cold wet thing going on bigtime these days!

Has anyone compared them to the Hyperloft Booties at MEC?

DD had a pair for the winter when she first started walking (the style has changed a wee bit), and I've been wondering if the Stonz booties would have been a better route to go.

I think the MEC booties aren't really meant to be worn outside on little feet, whereas I think the Stonz are meant to actually get worn outside, on the ground, and are water and wind resistant.

Really? Don't tell my daughter -they worked out quite well for us, I thought!

How are the Stonz ones more outdoor-sy?

They have rubber bottoms that are waterproof and provide a bit more grip/protection. I bet the MEC ones would be great for warmth, but the appeal of the Stonz for us is that they stay on. I put DD down for a nap straight from the car and the Stonz stayed on the whole nap. Everything else comes off eventually.

That's what my kiddo's Hyperlofts were like - rubber bottoms and all. Granted, they were the Winter 2005/2006 version. It's too bad that MEC has changed their design, because boots like that are great for new walkers!
