Radian 80 vs 65

I am debating between the 80 and the 65. I am not concerned about the weight difference as DS is on the small side - however - is the seat/cover/padding the same? I was able to see an 80 IRL and it was very nice and seemed very comfortable. Will I be disappointed if I order a 65? Are there other differences between the two?

When I researched it a previous poster said they were exactly the same just different padding. Basically, same slots for the straps and placement of the crotch stap etc. All in all we do love it! Our child is 3 1/2 and tall for her age.

We're very happy with our 65...the cover is nice, the padding is fine... no complaints at all (I like a nice 'plain' seat, so I even take off shoulderpads and headrests as soon as I can, though...if you like extra padding bits and pieces, go for the 80)

Thanks - I had pretty much decided on the 65 - but just found the 80 online at 15% off with a coupon code and no deals on the 65. Since I can get the 80 at a discount and have not found any discounts on the 65 - seems like the 80 makes sense for appx $10 difference.

If your going to buy one you might as well by the 80.. so you can use it to 80 lbs.. otherwise when your child hits 65 lbs you will have to buy another car seat.

But... most kids outgrow it by height before 50 pounds. Really, the harness is only a tad taller than the Marathon... No where near as tall as the Regent, which DOES have a snowball's chance of getting a kid to a full 80 pounds (average weight of the average 11 year old). The 80 is fine if you like the cover or want the extra padding bits or must have the carry strap, but it will not last a minute longer than the 65 unless you have a very stocky child.
