My sister just finished her Masters degree in Nutrition and I have no idea what to get her. She is in her thirties married and now ready to have some kids. They are getting ready to build their first home. Should I geet something scholorly? or something practical...or maybe just a gift certificate to a spa...maybe a Pedicure....she can now finally relax instead of working and going to school FT! Anyideas????

I got this as a gift for completing my master's. The bean mean new beginings or something like that. I think it is beautiful. But you really can't go wrong with a spa certificate. Is she going to be looking for a job, a gift certificate with a person who does resumes etc would be nice.

That's beautiful and a great idea -- something she can keep and wear forever.

One other thought is to get her something very nice for the kitchen -- since her degree is in Nutrition, maybe something to help her make healthier foods. When my husband graduated and was going to PT school, I got him a really nice stethoscope since he needed that for his future career. It was something he never would have spent as much on had he purchased it himself, but something that he needed to do his job.

How about a nice pendant necklace? Every time she wears it she will think of you and also of her MS degree. :) I don't wear that much jewelry, BUT I do get flooded with memories when I do wear my jewelry, b/c all of them have been gifts from loved ones.

What about a really nice briefcase? When I finished my doctorate I got several pieces of mouse jewlery that are cute but will never wear. I'd go with something professional that she might need.

i'd say:

necklace
business card holder with monogram
brief case (doesn't have to be stuffy, could be cute.)
spa certificate
dinner out certificate
or super original, something from www.storypeople.com (http://www.storypeople.com) that you think exemplifies her work in nutrition or what she means to you/how proud you are of her accomplishment.
