Progressive Dinner

Has anyone ever been a part of one or started up a progressive dinner in their neighborhood? I would love to hear how you do these things and any ideas on them would be great!

I've been part of two progressive dinners. We did our neighborhood dinner very simply (we all live on the same block). We split it between 4 houses:

drinks/appetizers
soup/salad
main course
dessert

We did the same thing for a work Christmas party minus the soup/salad, but he houses were a few miles apart, so we hired a trolley to take us from house to house and sang Christmas carols as we went.

For our neighborhood dinner, we hired 2 babysitters to be at a 5th house and watch the kids.
