what exactly is on a security clearance?

I need to get my clearances checked for a babysitting job and I was wondering what is on it? Obviously they are checking for child abuse and possble felonies ...but are misdemeaners and traffic tickets on there as well. I do have underage drinking on my record from many moons ago...does that show up for everyone to see?

It depends. Some places look at credit history as well as criminal history. As for the underage drinking, I think that would be on your juvenile record not an adult one.

This may be true, but it may show up if the drinking was after you were a legal adult, but under the drinking age, depending on the drinking age in that State. Either way, I would think that they probably won't care since it was a youthful indiscretion! :)
