Can an electric blanket be washed?

DS puked on our electric blanket and I don't know what my options are for cleaning it? Can it go in the washing machine?

Does it still have the tag on it. Ours can go in the washer once all the external stuff if taken off. There should be a tag sewn onto it somewhere with directions.
