http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2130/2263068980_d3de7b5c20_m.jpgLook what I created to tow DD while skiing. We have 4 feet of snow with another foot or so coming between now and Sunday. I took an expired car seat, hacked off all the heavy stuff and bolted to a sled and old skis. The rest is PVC from a plumbing store.

Hi Tracey, I'm proud of you for making a cool contraption that lets you get DD out of the house...but I can't get the photo to work! I wanna see this thingie-ma-bobber! Heck, you might have the next great baby gear idea and how can I say, oh I know the gal who invented that!
Help?

Tracey,

Post a picture and then make me one! You should sell
them on Etsy. :)

I see it! That is one cool sled-a-majingy! Now you gotta come up with a cool name for it so you can patent it ;) .Hope your DD enjoyed her cozy ride.

You should call it the skibaby. Or the Skeat. Or the Seat 'N Ski.

Awesome!!! They say that necessity is the mother of invention, right? ;)

That is absolutely great! We have a BabyGlider for DS which has gotten quite a lot of use lately in all this snow, but never would have been able to afford it if we'd had to buy one. Luckily it's a loan. But there's a niche in the market for an under-$500 baby ski sled...you should capitalize on it. It could be one of those Mommy-inventions that Oprah highlights every now and then where Moms have good ideas and make all sorts of money :)

It needs some work before I could 'sell' it, it kind of tips over around sharp curves, I am working on the PVC attachment points.

I talked to DH about a patent, he is a patent attorney. He laughed and suggested that I would be better making plans and drawings. It is a good way to use an old car seat.

I should post pictures of our house now that I figured it out. The snow is halfway up the first floor windows.

Now I need to work on a canopy and a swivel attachment for the front.
