receipts?
tax info?

i'm sure there are more i am thinking of but these are the main ones..
we still have bills from years ago. i want to get rid of them dh thinks we have to keep them...

Copies of tax returns and any supporting documentation, I've heard everything from 6-10 years.

Bills that aren't necessary for tax-purposes I shred at the end of the year.

Receipts for most items, I toss as soon as I confirm them against my credit card bill. Larger items I keep, mostly for home inventory purposes.
