I've seen these things for years and had never tried one. Until two days ago when I finally opened one DH brought home. And then polished off the rest of it today.

Yummmmmmmmm.

The Swiss seriously know how to do chocolate. The Aussie's really know how to do red licorice. You can get both of these things most easily at Bed Bath & Beyond. Mmmmm . . . .

Try melting it and adding a little cream for a great fondue with fruits, marshmallows, poundcake...

I'm not certain, but I think TJs has them. I know they have the dark chocolate Ritter Sport there. DH always brings me a big Dark Choc. Toblerone back when he travels to Europe.

Oh yes, I just found this out today. A coworker had a tub of individually wrapped dark chocolate, white and milk chocolate toblerone pieces. The dark chocolate is SO much better than the milk chocolate one. I'd have eaten more if they were actually mine :)

My favorite is the white chocolate one, my mum always put one in my stocking!

Scary wondeful, aren't they? But I like the dark choc even better - totally yummy.

I'm going to chop 'em up and throw 'em on almost-done brownies as "frosting." YUM!

Many long years ago, we used to put them in brownies instead of unsweetened chocolate. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wow! Between this thread and the Kinderegg one, I'm re-living my childhood!

I saw the dark chocolate ones a few days ago, but I resisted because if I brought it in the house, I would eat the whole thing by myself. Just like I did with the one I bought a few weeks ago. Why should DS & DH know how good they are? :wink2:

Mmmm, yummy memories. When I was in high school, my best friend's family went to Switzerland for a year. I got to visit them for Christmas vacation. Ohhhh, the chocolate. I ate almost nothing but Swiss chocolate bars for 19 days, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and somehow lost about 10 lbs by accident. Best diet in my life!

We did the fondue thing one year, and after that experience I've stayed away from using Toblerone for fondue. The little toffee bits burned and stuck to the sides of the fondue pot. I think I ended up throwing that pot out, since in attempting to remove the stuck on toffee bits (even after soaking them) either they didn't come off, or they pulled some of the non-stick coating off with them.

I bought a dozen each of these (in milk, white and dark) from Amazon before Christmas during one of their big grocery sales, and I taped three bars together and wrapped them as part of the gifts to our neighbors and stocking stuffers for the family this year. It worked out great!

I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread.

Dang.

I haven't had a Toblerone for years, but now I want one really badly.

Me too, I loooove Toblerone. DH picked up a huge dark chocolate bar from duty free the previous time he travelled, which probably explains why I did not loose as much weight after holidays as I hoped.
