We are looking for a Sand & Water table for the girls. They were given money at Christmas by some European relatives. We thought this would be a good toy for both of them.

Do you have a S&W table you love??? Which one??

I would like one with a lid b/c our neighbor has a cat.

ETA: I was looking at the following ones:

An umbrella isn't mandatory -- we only get 1 day of sunshine here, LOL.

We have the Step 2 one with the umbrella. I like it, the boys like it, but it is kind of a pain to maintain. We have to drain and clean the water side everytime it is used because of sand getting in the water, etc. Also, we keep it on our deck so the boys can easily play with it, but we don't have a hose nozal on our deck so it takes some work to clean it. Also, the wayward sand drives DH a little crazy. Clearly our issues may not be your issues :)

DS1 is 4 and DS2 is almost 2. They play with it for probably 3 hours a week during nice weather. HTH

Ha ha ha -- you might be surprised! Is your DH a virgo by any chance?? I can see my DH going nutty over the mixing of sand and water. In fact, I think it might be rather entertaining for me to watch him stress about this, LOL.

I'm evil....

I'm picking up this one this afternoon for DS's birthday present: http://www.creativekidstuff.com/saandwata.html. Looks great, has a lid, and it's on sale today!

We've had the 2nd Step 2 one for about 4 years now and it's holding up great. I do think it is a bit of a pain to drain the water completely but that is probably true w/ any of them.

We have the Iplay table & DD loves it.
I like that it comes with the water wheel & funnel attachments plus shovels a rake & boat. My cousin's kiddos have the same one & she loves it. Especially b/c her kids (2.5 & 3.5) can both play with it at the same time since the accessories are in the middle. (Follow me? :) )

We have the step 2 sand and water activity table. DS loves it and it is outside year round (holds up nicely in the snow). I love the lid as well.

I know that people really like the Step 2 Sand & Water Table, so that is probablly a good one to get. Here is another option available through Costco.com (you don't have to be a member to buy online, but there may be a nominal surcharge if you are a non-member). This one is $59.99 shipped, and I think it is made by Early Learning Resources.

I think it is probably the same thing as this one below, but the one above might be made exclusively for Costco.

We also have the IPlay table. My DD is 2 and loves it. I found it at Target last year on clearance for $19.99. It it sturdy, and it also came with a lid, plus accessories. This table has provided many hours of fun for DD!

my DD loves playing with it. Sand gets everywhere but what can you do?

we have the step 2 sand and water table and it has been great and gotten tons of use. When my little one was really young we even took off the legs and laid it on the floor. He loved splashing around in it. We've had kids climb up into it and stand in it and it has been totally sturdy!

For a while we had it inside and had marbles in it.... the boys like the track option to drive cars around. It can be a mess but they have fun so thats what counts!

Good Luck

We have this one. The castle theme worked well for my Little People crazed kids. They have since moved onto other things (PlayMobil instead of Little People) but even still castle theme things give lots of room for creativity for girls and boys.

Thanks ladies.

DH took DD#1 to TRU today and got this one

I haven't looked closely at it, but I think that's the one.

I'm currently sulking in the office because dumb-a$$ is all huffy with me because he told DD#1 they would set it up INSIDE. WTF?!?!?! I know this should go in the bitching post, but COME ON. A Sand & Water table INSIDE??!?

I told them if anyone attempted to set it up inside, I would personally hack it up into little pieces and put it in the garbage. Can you tell I'm not having the best of days??!

I may lose my mind.

Ours is set up in our playroom (tile floor) & I have to say it is a god send for the long winter. Rather than sand I put moon sand in. I also put her tiny little blow up baby pool underneath to catch any spills.
