Deep breast pain

Okay help me figure this one out. I have this deep pain on the left side where the breast meets the underarm. It has been increasing in pain the last few days. It is worse when I take a deep breath or lift my arms. It does not feel like a plugged duct, it is not hot, red or lumpy. But it hurts like hell. I have been making DD very hungry and letting her go at it forever making sure she empties that side completely. It does hurt to nurse, it seems like she cannot get a great latch on that side (she has never had a great latch, but his is worse).

FYI - I am halfway through amoxacillin for a sinus infection.

What do you think, plugged duct, mastitas, ductal yeast? Random benign breast pain?

Its been a while since I nursed..but my first thougth was yeast, esp. with the antibiotics. I had this problem, and remember that deep pain you are describing. ;(

I had exactly the deep pain you are describing when I had thrush. It had me in tears. I was able to get rid of it by taking 2 doses of Diflucan and using Nystatin cream. I hope you feel better soon.
