Hello everyone!

Gosh! It's been so long since I've checked in!

We are headed out to Phoenix for Spring Break. Any suggestions for fun things to do with DC's? We're flying in late-late-late on Sunday the 23rd, and flying back late-late-late on Thursday the 27th. We are going to one of the Cubs spring training games on Tuesday. I hear that the zoo is awesome. What else would you suggest?

TIA!

Not sure where you're staying - but the McCormick Train Park in Scottsdale is fun. Nice playground, train they can ride, etc. We just got back from there. Since we live in the north, just being outside is fun!!

That sounds awesome!

We are staying at the Embassy Suites in North Phoenix and are renting a car to get around.

Thank you, and keep 'em coming!

We flew into Phoenix but drove and stayed in Tucson and I can't remember drive time now. Anyway, DH and DS enjoyed the little Tucson zoo. Not much help here, but FYI - we tried to do the bat cave in the area (this was in 2006 and I'd need to look up exact name again) and found out the hard way DS does not do caves (although he NOW loves to play "cave" in our bed with the blankets over our heads).

Sounds like you picked a good time to go. We were there in August and it was a bit hot for us CA flowers.

The in-laws live in the Phoenix area so we visit frequently. We LOVE the train park that was already recommended. We also have been to the zoo which is great. The botanical gardens is fun too. We have a trip scheduled at the beginning of April - DD is looking forward to the train park. Have fun!

Also, right now the Botanical Gardens (which is right next door to the zoo) has a Butterfly Pavillion where you can go inside and there are butterflies all around. Some will even land on you if you are still enough. You have to pay the regular admission to the garden plus an additional $3 for each visitor 3+. We took our kids this past Monday and they loved it.

We were just visiting Phoenix and took our almost 4 year old to the Arizona Science Center. She loved it.

Hi, I just saw this (I need to remember to check more forums than just the lounge!) I live in Phoenix. Here are some more ideas and repeats of places other posters have mentioned so that you'll have the websites. The Valley is huge (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, etc.) You're staying in the north central part of town, but I think the Cubs play in Mesa which is in the southeast part of the valley. I've tried to list some places to go (indoors and outdoors) and the general part of town where they're located. If I can be of any help, please feel free to email me through the boards. (I promise, I'm not shouting with the caps, I'm just trying to distinguish areas and I can't figure out how to 'bold' anything.)

The outlets are west of the freeway. Anthem Community Park is east of the freeway. Great playground, grassy areas, and a train runs on the weekends.
