I can't believe my baby is turning one next week!

I was thinking about having DD1 pick out a present for DD2. Does anyone have any advice for making this go smoothly, as DD1 has no concept of $$ but has very expensive taste! :wink2: And of course she'll see a lot of stuff she wants for herself...

Hmm, am I just setting myself up for disaster? Or have people done this successfully?

Situations like that I usually do the choosing or maybe give a couple of options and then play up how fun it will be to give the gift. So more focus on giving than *what* is being given.

I took DD to the dollar tree and let her pick out one present for DS first bday. She picked out a great dinosaur and I didn't have to worry about cost. :) I know this wouldn't be for everyone, but it worked for us. She was soooo proud of picking a present all by herself!

Happy birthday to your DD!

Thanks for your replies! DH took DD1 to Build a Bear today and she had a blast making a (hot pink with sparkles, dress and accessories) bear for DD2. :)
