to clean my Medela bottles.
I can't believe it took me this long to figure it out, so I thought I should post. I purchased an Avent bottle brush back in 2004, along with a variety of bottles, including Avent. However, I only ever used Medela bottles. I never thought to try the Avent brush to clean my Medela bottles because the brush came in a solid package and did not look like it would fit. So I used Munchkin and other brands and was never quite pleased.
So now that I have 50 bottles that I go through (daycare requires smaller aliquots so that less EBM is wasted) I finally tried the Avent brush. It fits! It is great--no metal parts to rust, and the bristles actually brush the base of the bottle too! So I wish I had figured this out 4 years ago.
