I have blank wall above my childs art table that I would like to use to display her artwork. Something like a wire across the wall that I could clip different artwork to. Does this make sense?? I wonder if someone makes a kit or if I could just go to Michaels and find the stuff. Anyone done this? Have any pictures? TIA Les

We used the Dignitet kits from IKEA's curtain section.

Dignitet Curtain Wires and Hardware (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60075295)
Dignitet Curtain Rings and Clips (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20075947) -- we only used the clips.

In our playroom: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c274/mristhefish/dignitet1-1.jpg

I have a third set that I haven't installed yet. They can be cut to fit walls or spaces of any length up to 16 feet.

ETA photos.

Edited again to say that I originally hung clothesline and used clothespins to hang stuff. I HATED it! I couldn't get the clothesline taut enough and it was saggy and looked very sloppy. :(

Probably depends on what type of area you have. A friend of mine has a cute "curly wire" thing that was from Pottery Barn in her garage entry that holds small things - cute notecards, pictures, etc.

A casual look that's cute and easy for everyone to use is truly rope/twine between two points and clothespins. Easy to change out the art and cute. Use cute wooden coat hooks or other painted items for each end.

I have a slightly more formal look in my son's room. It's a metal curtain rod with the ring clips (would have been used for fabric panel window treatments). It's cute, but the clips are a little hard to open and close which means I don't change the art as much as I was hoping.

Friends of ours have a great one that I think they said was supposed to be some kind of shower curtain rod, but worked great as a place to hang kid's art. I think it's this:

I was looking at this from The Land of Nod: http://www.landofnod.com/family.aspx?c=1133&f=397&pc=113

Don't know how long the cable is for the Pottery Barn one, but at 6' long this one from Land of Nod seems so much cheaper! Cute too!

HTH!
