My mom is the secretary at Central School in Ottawa, IL where all the elementary district's 5th and 6th graders attend school. They have a phenomenal special needs teacher who teaches students with a HUGE range of abilities.
One of their favorite activities is cooking, which is not only fun for the kids, but is an important life skill for these kids to learn.
They don't have an adequate kitchen area, though- it's part of the art room, which is not very well equipped to handle wheelchairs, is dirty from art projects, etc, etc...
If you're so inclined to help Mrs. Rolando toward her goal of $30,000-$35,000 to get the school outfitted with a great kitchen for these awesome students, here is a link (http://www.wqad.com/global/Category.asp?c=131341) to vote.
