I am traveling by air soon and have a quick question about taking liquids, gels, etc in my carry on. I've got my quart sized bag all ready to go, and have some nice little 3 oz and under bottles and containers. Can I leave some things in their original containers as long as those are 3 oz or under, ie my foundation jar and concealer tube? And what about solid things like deoderant or blush? Or things with gel like textures like mascara?

TIA. During previous trips I've just checked everything but I'm trying to get away with just a carry on this time.

As long as each container is less than 3 ounces you should be fine.

I was going to say this was more than you ever wanted to know, but it's kind of hypnotic reading: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Anyway, if your deodorant or blush or mascara is a gel or cream or paste, it has to be in a 3oz or less container. The original one is fine.
