Snugride base compatability?

A friend has asked to borrow our Snugride base with manufacturer date in mid 2003. Theirs is a new Snugride part of a travel system with a date of sometime in mid-late 2007 (I'm guessing). I know Graco made some changes in the restraint, but should this seat fit with our base?

Newer SRs fit in old bases and the reverse. The only restriction is that you can only use the old bases to 20 lbs, not the 22 lbs of the newer seat portion.
