Did anyone use UPS pick-up service?

We are thinking about using UPS pickup service for our move instead of hiring a mover. We will move from CA to NY and plan to sell all furniture. We have not used this service before and don't know what to expect. Do I need to buy a scale and weight each box and print out the label from their website before they come and pick up? Please share with me your experience.

My 1st thought is that it will have to pay way more to do it that way. I would take the time to get estimates from both and go from there based on what works for your budget and needs. Almost every moving company offers a free estimate servce so it is a pretty painless process to get some recommendations and have them come.

I haven't tried the UPS route though. Hopefully someone w/ some actual experience on that can help. :)
