At what age did your DS/DD learn to tie his/her own shoes? DD will be 3 1/2 this month, and she mostly wears sandals, crocs, or slip on/velcro mary jane tennies (which I love, since she can get her shoes on by herself!). When would be a good age to have her start learning to tie shoelaces? Thanks :)

Wow - good question. I hadn't even really thought about this skill.

I do remember that when I was in preschool that I was very skilled at getting out knots; all the other kids had me help them with that. I can't remember if I could actually tie shoes then, but I think probably. I was 4 in preschool, but I have no idea if I learned closer to 4, or closer to 5.
