Totally new to this, so pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between a compact covertible and a convertible for Britax?

My guess is the size- the Roundabout family is much smaller than the Marathon family, and will fit rear-facing in smaller cars. As a result, they have different size/weight limits.

That's the big marketing world for the Diplomat, isn't it? Yeah, they are smaller (that and the Roundabout as the PP mentioned)... I really wouldn't buy one unless I had a very small car (they maybe last rearfacing to 20-28 months, forward facing to 3 or 4)...the regular seats, the Marathon/Decathlon/Boulevard rearface to the full 35 pounds (age 3-4 is average) and then forward face to usually about age five (which is the minimum age to go to a booster seat, ideally).
