When DN comes to visit (3 or 4 times a year), we set up the pnp for her to sleep in. Her parents are planning a vacation this July and she'll be staying with us for 5 - 7 days. She will be just over two, but she is really tall, almost 36 inches. When they were here over the holidays she stayed in the pnp and was fine, but looked cramped.

I'm concerned DN would not be comfy for nearly a week in a pack n play, so I'm looking for a used toddler bed and mattress. We weren't planning on getting DD a toddler bed, but she might use it when she transitions from the crib. Is there anything else anyone can recommend?

TIA

How about a blow-up single mattress?

DS is over 36 inches and still naps in a P+P at his babysitter's.

DS will be 2 very soon, and we decided the PNP was just becoming too much of a pain to travel with, and he hated it anyway, so we got the Small Fry Designs Toddler Travel & Trundle here:

He slept in it for the first time this weekend and LOVED it. He calls it his "big boy" bed (He still sleeps in a crib at home).

HTH!

For us it was about 2 1/2. We ended up getting an aerobed Jr. (might be called aerobed for kids). It's a very comfy blow-up mattress and the sides are raised, so they can't roll out:

Dora was still using the PnP on our trip in March. She's not using it now because Arwyn needs it:) But that toddler trundle looks pretty cool!

DD is 3, 38" and still sleeps just fine in the pnp. She's also still in her crib. We'll be moving her to an inflatable ready bed in a few months when she is in a toddler bed.

She will fit just fine in the pnp. I think if they are used to sleeping in a crib it is better to stay in a pnp than a bed because they are used to having a contained sleeping space. My 2.3 yo dd will be sleeping in one all summer at a house we rented but we got a better mattress for $20 that she will use. Also, sleeping in a new place does not seem like a good time for the first week out of a crib.

I think the height limit of pnp is the same as the crib, 35 inches. DD is really tall, 38 inches at 2 yrs old. She climbed out of the pnp effortless when she was around 20 months. I stopped using it when I found out.

We were lucky that DD knew to climb out the right way and didn't get hurt. But we can't be sure that she would get it right every time.
