Converting a dresser to a bookcase?

Does anyone have any experience converting a dresser to a bookcase? I have an old dresser that I've had since college (going on 11+ years now) that I've been thinking about converting to a bookcase for the nursery. I found some instructions online at hgtv.com or diy.net (can't remember which, the link is bookmarked on my home computer). It didn't appear that it would be that difficult to do but didn't know if anyone had any actual experience.

I could also easily buy a new bookcase but thought I, or more realistically DH, could give this a shot first.
