Hoping someone with experience can lend advice.

A friend of mine has a piano they'd like to sell for $40,000. I suggested Craigslist but after checking my local one, I'm not so sure that was good advice.....seems their piano is out of Craigslist's league. :ROTFLMAO:

Where could they advertise this piano? Any thoughts?

TIA

That's insane and very specialized. If they have a piano worth that much they must know professional musicians and I would think word-of-mouth or a call to a conservatory would be the route. Otherwise they should probably call a local auction house and see if they can make a recommendation.

Thanks so much for your reply!!

Had to :hysterical: at the insane comment. ITA!

They found the piano for a "steal"(don't know how much) and the DH is a self-taught pianist. They don't know pros. It's just his baby.

Thank you for the tips. I'll pass them along.

If anyone else has ideas, I'd love to pass them along!

I forgot I came across these sites a while ago. DH says your friends must have a Steinway grand. Do you know what it is? Wild.

Yes, I think they need to be talking with a piano specialist to have it appraised and then network to see if they know any potential buyers, etc.

Piano teachers always know people who are in the market for a piano. Maybe contact a piano teacher in a wealthy area?

Do you know how awesome you are??? Thank you!!!! I'm sure all your responses will help them be more proactive in getting it sold. They'd shared with someone associated with our city's orchestra that they were interested in selling but nothing really came of it.

It's a Mason & Hamlin piano. :)

Thanks again!!!:cheerleader1:

They have Mason and Hamlin's for 65K. Maybe your friends can sell through them?
