sitting on potty?

ds is wanting to sit on the potty. (depends on the day) how long should he sit there? i am all about no pressure. but there are times he will sit for 2 seconds and say he is done and then there are times where it is an hour. an hour is a long time for me to sit with him.. any suggestions is great! thanks.

I didn't get to read/research/gather thoughts before PTing happened at our house, but I'm just trying to be flexible and go with what she wants in this area. We've made major strides in #2 (crossing my fingers) since I've learned to just wait it out. DS has an exersaucer sitting in the hall so he can wait it out too. We keep a fresh stack of books in there and we read whatever she wants to hear until it happens or she decides the event is over. She's getting better at listening to her body and going at the right time, not FAR too early.
Maybe others will have better advice...
