Can anyone tell me if their furniture covered in microfiber is easily marked by sweat or oily skin? DH and I are considering a headboard that is upholstered in beige microfiber, see http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?DeptID=37340&CatID=37340&Grptyp=STY&ItemId=132fed7&cmRef=http://www.jcpenney.com/products/C040673.jsp

He sweats a lot at night and has very oily skin. We do not read or sit upright in bed, and we would have pillows, but DH likes to wad up the pillows, so I am sure his bare skin or head would rub against the headboard.

I know microfiber is supposed to very cleanable. But daily, prolonger contact wtih oily skin seems like it might be a challenege. Any experience?

We have microfiber in the living room. When we bought it, I didn't really love the look of it, but I got it b/c I thought it was a smart choice. If I were to buy furniture again, I would RUN for the microfiber! That stuff is practically like vinyl- EVERYTHING comes off of it, including DH's sweaty head marks. They do show up (especially after a sports watching marathon), but they come off with just a drop of dishsoap in water.

I'm sure there are different types of microfibers, and some may clean easier than others. Ours is from LaZBoy, and we bought their fabric protection stuff, but so far I have gotten out piles of marker stains, sweat, greasy food, red wine, pen, crayon, chocolate and blood, just to name a few. My sister has microfiber couches from Rooms to Go, and she has gotten PAINT out of hers.

I'm sorry, I just looked at this after the swinging topic, and yes, I kind of connected the two in my head...

My husband has gotten our wood headboard kind of filmy/oily near where his pillow is. TMI, sorry it's kind of gross. I would not go with fabric for us because of that.
