dd sleeps well all day and even after evening feedings but when i go to feed her after midnight she won't go back to sleep. she makes a lot of noise and I find myself going into her room every 15 minutes (and just when I have dozed off) to re-insert the pacifier into her cute little mouth. anyone btdt and do you have any advice about how to stop the madness, if that's even possible? tia!

IIRC you asked about stretches between feedings a little while ago. I don't know what your ped ended up advising but I'll reiterate what worked for me at that age. Try to discourage long daytime naps and long stretches between feedings during the day. Baby could get used to a longer stretch during the day & be incapable of going that long at night as well, so if there's one or two long stretches of sleep you want to make it happen at night.
Also, if it's just a matter of popping the paci back in it may be easier to keep the baby in your room so you don't have to get out of bed. If you're not into cosleeping you can keep the baby in a Moses basket or bassinet on or next to your bed (obviously not where it can fall!). I found that worked great for me as well.
Last suggestion: try posting in one of the other forums like the lounge or feeding. You may get more responses that way.

DD had days and nights switched until about six weeks old. She slept really well during the day and not as well at night! But it did switch over at about six weeks. She did have one long stretch and we just had to get it at night instead of during the day. Do you swaddle her at all? I didn't think DD needed that because she was sleeping pretty well, but it did seem to make a difference in how long she slept at night.
And as an aside, have you ever seen the show Dinosaurs? My aunt kept talking about it because the baby dinosaur would hit anyone who wasn't his mother and say "Not the Momma! Not the Momma!" But the episode I watched he was up at 3:00 a.m. and wanted to play and the mother told him it was 3:00 a.m. and he should go to sleep and his response was "I'm just a baby...no concept of time...time to play!" Or something to that effect!
