I need to buy a convertible seat for DS#2. I am on a budget, but don't want the Scenera-- I've used it before, and don't love it. My budget is about $130. I don't really like the knob harness adjuster on the Evenflo Triumph advance.

Also, please don't say, "If you'd just spend a bit more, you could get a......"

Is there anything that's slightly less barebones than the scenera, but in the low $100s?

We just got a Safety 1st Uptown at Big Lots for $65, manu date of 4/08. So far we love it. It's very plush, nice high top slots, very comfy for DS. Our everyday seat is a BV, the Uptown is in Grandma's car.

Yep, the next step up from the Scenera is the Uptown. It has higher top harness slots and more padding. The only downside is that the harness adjuster sits lower in the front, so if you're using it rear-facing, it tends to get lost in the vehicle seat back.
