I have the Chicco Keyfit 30 and absolutely love everything about the seat except the sun visor. It's really inadequate and does not extend far enough.

I am using the car seat with the Baby Trend Snap N Go. Does anyone know of an add-on accessory that improves the sun protection of the Keyfit? Thanks!

Yeah, I was not very impressed with my KF 22's shade :(

this might work? most folks just hang a blanket over the handle...

I have the exact same problem with my keyfit 30..you figure for as much money as it cost us they'd put another 4-5 inches of sun protection. I just put a thin swaddle blanket over the handle. At least the shade on the stroller helps to cover what's exposed.

I'll be using it with a Snap N Go too. I'm so not impressed with the shade on it.

I'm going to try to fit the shade from my old seat onto it. I'm guessing it won't work.

Oooh. Or this: http://tinyurl.com/69sugj
An added bonus is that it would keep DS from bugging the baby!

I tried out the Uppa Baby car seat cover from the link above:

I thought it was pretty weird because it has an opaque silver reflective UV layer so you can't see your baby when it's closed.

I bought the Seat Shade from Sunshine Kids. I'll post back here when I receive it.

Just following up...

The sun shade from Sunshine Kids does not work at all. It does not attach very securely since it attaches with two very small metal clips that are difficult to open and close. The shade flops around when you try to move it out of the way to access the car seat handlebar.

I will report back if I find something that works successfully.

Bah, humbug :p. I hope you find a solution before the short days of winter kick in, lol.

I'm not sure if you have tried but have you undone the velcro at the base of the visor? When undone it has much more coverage/ flexability to serve its purpose. I find that this helps to at least keep the sun out of my little ones eyes if nothing else but I definately understand your frustration.

Thanks for that idea! I have been doing that a lot lately since the sunny summer days have arrived. Unfortunately, that leaves a gap of sun by the back of his head. Also, I find that the visor doesn't extend as tautly when the velcro is unfastened.
