We bought an elliptical machine last night. The manual is less than stellar and I can't figure out what the proper form is for best results. I'm sure that I'm not bouncing or leaning forward but I'm not sure what my feet are supposed to be doing. My heel raises a tiny bit off the pedal, is that okay? Also, my feet to seem move around a lot. Any tips for how I should stand on this thing? TIA!

It's okay for your heels to pick up. Mine always did, just like when you're walking or running. Try to stay on the balls of your feet and focus on keeping those in one place. I love ellipticals, it's my favorite machine. Treat it like you're running, fluid motion, it's okay to bounce a little. Enjoy!

I'm not sure what proper form is, but I usually am flat-footed, sometimes on balls of feet. I've even worked out bare-footed on our ellipitcal--I'm sure that's not good form.
