Since you all are so good at this and have given me great advice in the past, I thought I'd ask here!

I am looking for a small daypack for when I go walking for exercise. It needs to hold my water, tissues, cell phone, keys..

Any ideas? Are there any good sales going on now? Something like this, but maybe a better color :)

I want to avoid a waist pack. Thanks,

Kris

I love Eagle Creek's small daypacks - a friend of mine once loaned me her small EC daypack for a trip and I found it fantastic. It had lots of small pockets and compartments. Here's what I found on the EC site - this isn't the same one, but it looks compact. It costs around $30.

Container Store also has some nice, compact options.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by small because that can mean different things to different people, but here are two choices at either end of that range.

This one is similar to the Miwok also by The North Face, which I think is discontinued and was very popular: http://www.rei.com/product/716408 I know a few moms who use it as a diaper bag! It's probably a bit large just for walking with water and tissues, but if you're ever looking for more, it's great, lots of pockets.

This one: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=84552444241 9239&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302699713&bmUID=1214667400236 is a bit smaller, and more purse-like. I've been lusting after it for awhile but DH hasn't gotten the hint yet.

But, if you're really looking just for water/tissues/keys - why not try a Camelback? This is what I use when I ski and cycle, and in addition to having a pouch for the water, it has another small one that I use for my tissues, extra gloves, phone and straps. Many manufacturers make them; here are some women-specific ones (which is what I have) http://www.rei.com/search?query=camelback+women - they vary quite a bit in size. North Face and Nalgene make them too, but I don't know as much about them or what they're made of (ie - BPA).

I have the REI Nikole daypack. I love it! I have it in the tan color with pinkish-salmon colored floral design but it looks like that color is no longer shown on the website. I am currently using it as a diaper bag.

Although it is only a messenger bag...I love my bag from LL Bean (forget name). But it has many compartments, outside water bottle holder, and very light. I take when ever I travel or hike. Also, it has made a great small diaper bag.:) when needed.
