Thanks for the suggestions. We are good friends with this couple. They also have a 7 year old boy so we attend both birthday parties every year. The older brother got a stomp rocket like 2 years ago and the little one who is turning 4 got a playdoh set and watercolors from us like 2 years ago. I think last year I got him a dinosaur bucket and a m&d dinosaur puzzle.

I like the idea of instruments, but I'm wondering where I can find some that aren't too babyish by this Saturday. Do a dot is popular with my DD who is 4 so that's also a good idea.

Our Target has a selection of older kid instuments. In our stores they're either on the aisle with the Schleisch (sp?) animals or over by the Leapster stuff (makes no sense to me either). Can't remember what they have -- guitar, drum, flute maybe.
