A close friend of our family had a massive heart attack Saturday and suffered extensive brain damage. He is currently on a ventilator, but once his brain activity is determined tomorrow, I'm sure his wife will decide to withdraw. He is in his mid-60s and has had heart problems for years.
We know this family because they lived "up the hill" from my Grandparents (who are both now deceased). They live in another state and we always had the comfort of knowing that they were there looking out for my Grandparents when they got older. When we wanted my Grandfather to stop driving and he refused, our friend snuck down to their house and removed a part in the engine. He almost got caught and my Grandfather almost got the car started anyway - lol. My Dad is an only child and my Grandmother often referred to these friends as her "second children". I have known them my entire life and played with their daughter when we were kids.
My parents are still close with them and go to visit a couple times each year. He is like a brother to my Dad.
I'm not asking for P&PT for him to recover as this is not likely, but for the comfort of his wife, family and friends.
Thank you in advance.
