DS has gone through 2 of these fish moving lights
http://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Seabed-Motion-Night-Light/dp/B000MJB1VG

They last about a year, and stop moving/no lights.

He wants a replacement light that stays on all night long - but it can't be a plug into the power outlet as all of those are behind furniture.

Anyone seen anything that might work?

Note we do have a regular lamp on a timer that gets turned on at 7am for "time to get up". I'm looking for something to leave on all night so his room isn't so dark. He likes fish, but he'll be fine with other characters.

Thnaks.

Mobi Tykelight! They are plastic vaguely person shaped lights that charge on a charger during the day, then they will stay lit all night long.

That's the Target link. We have a blue one and a purple one. My 4 year old keeps the purple one in bed with him at night, and he puts it on the charger each morning. He named it Lightbeam. :)

Ditto the Tykelight. DS loves his and gets his "goodnight light" off the charger at night before bed. I do think it's a little on the bright side, but it hasn't seemed to bother him or disrupt his sleep at all.

It stays cool, and is totally sealed - recharges through some mysterious magnetic system, so neither the base nor the light have exposed contacts of any kind.

Ditto, ditto the Mobi Tyke Light. DD loves hers. I think there is also a Candela brand one and Ikea makes one too. I like the Mobi and Candela ones the best but they are all the same idea.
