I don't remember seeing any updates posted about your
husband. How is he doing? Have you heard anything?

I hope he is okay!!!

I have been wondering the same thing. I hope everything is ok.

Thanks for checking on us, Corie and Jeri! :)

I'm happy to report that the thyroid nuclear scan came out okay. It's a little weird b/c I wasn't really expecting an "everything's fine" result b/c I didn't think that you could get one from the nuclear scan.

DH had the nuclear scan about a week and a half ago and someone from his PCP's office called with the result. He had a physical this past week and was going to get more information from his doctor. I meant to have him ask a few specific questions, but I totally forgot about it until after the appointment. The doctor said that the nodule showed up as normal, functioning thyroid tissue and that they would check on it yearly at DH's physical. I asked DH, but he wasn't clear on what "checking on it" entailed.

So, now I'm not sure if I should press DH to go see an ENT or endocrinologist or if everything's really okay. I guess I'm just a little confused about the scan results. I don't want to send DH to the doctor if we don't need to (and I don't know what else, if anything, a specialist would do), but I want to make sure that everything's okay.

I'm glad he had a good prognosis!

Please keep us posted with any updates...give your DH a hug from us!

Kristen,

I totally understand what you mean. For some reason, I'll accept
the one doctor giving me the bad news but I need like 20 doctors
reassuring me that now everything is okay. :)

I'm glad the scan came back fine!!

I had the same deal happen when I was 19. I had a nodule and they did a nuclear scan and it was "hot" so they said it was OK, we just needed to do regular ultrasounds on the thyroid to make sure it didn't grow/get worse. here I am 6 years later and I have another nodule now, but still no one's worried about a thing. I have regular ultrasounds done. if i'm having a lot of thyroid trouble, i'll have an u/s, but if everything is OK, I only have to get them once a year. HTH!

Glad to hear you got an 'all clear'!

I'd call the doctor's office with your questions. This is something you need to understand from your care practitioner's perspective, so you can determine any new paths you need to follow.
