Some of you know about my in-laws, they are still in Iceland. They lived with us for about 6 months when ds was 2, and I don't really have much of a relationship with them, we are civil when we speak to each other via skype, but nothing special.
Well, Tuesday night, I find out that FIL may have leukemia, they already took a bone marrow sample and have given him what DH calls "take home chemo", chemo in the form of pills. The doctors didn't even tell FIL that it was chemo, and didn't know until dh told him.
So, anyway, dh treats this like any other stressful situation, his absurdist sense of humor takes over. But I know he is really wishing he could do something, and he is hurting. I know his mom would really fall apart if his dad dies, and I'm wanting to be supportive without being a doormat again.
any advice /positive thoughts would be appreciated!
