For our upcoming vacation, I need some comfortable but still stylish shoes. I have a very comfortable pair of slides, a pair of Keen newport sandals, pair of ecco black dress shoe. But I want something that's a little more stylish.

Clothes I'll be taking for day might be: shorts, capri pants, a-line skirt.
For night, we have some nice dinners booked - but it's at the B&B, so I can take my high heels, but I will need something for dinners in florence when we will walk. Taking black trousers, black embroidered skirt, etc

I was thinking of maybe a keen or another brand mary jane or sandal. Will I need a sneaker-type shoe? What colour - I like colours, but often stick with beige or black to go with everything.
here are the Keen shoes I'm looking at

Ugh...I hate this. I always pack several pairs of shoes while DH takes his black eccos and his Keen Newport sandals and is done.

I think Corie had posted recently about a pair of Merrell MJ's that she saw in a mag and loved, then got a super deal on!

Might have been similar to these, but not this color? http://www.shoebuy.com/merrell-plaza-bandeau/159066/366457?cm_mmc=cj-showcase-_-none-_-none-_-none

(as an aside, why would I remember this??? Can't tell you what I did today though... but shoes - sure, I know who posted about them!)

Ohhh, these are nice too. Too bad they're not in black.

Yes, I have those Merrel Plaza MJs in black (and just ordered another pair in brown). They would work for Italy, but are you going now? I would think they would be too warm. Summer in Italy is usually hot IME.

I think you're gonna want good walking shoes, like running shoes or such. I don't find my Keens comfy enough for walking long distances. I would take my Birks, though. Or my new Dansko Sela's. Love them. They come in black, too.

You're going to Italy. Buy your shoes there! There's nothing better than Italian shoes. I'm getting all warm and fuzzy thinking about it. Shoes..mmmm.....

Thanks. I'll be looking at shoes when we're there, but it'll depend if I can hand over that much money...I always regret big spending decisions like this, normally because I change my mind on what I buy.

I just spent a week in italy and wore my keens exclusively. They are red and most of what I wore was red/white/black/gray. They were super comfy!
