Please keep Parker and myself in your thoughts tomorrow as he has surgery for his retained umbilical cord & cyst. I'm ALREADY nervous for him!

We are home ALREADY! Surgery went great - no surprises. Parker is fussy, but eating and relatively comfy.

Sending positive, healthy, healing thoughts in your little one's direction.

It will be such a relief for your family when this is behind you. Try to look forward to that aspect of the surgery

Holy cow, you're HOME?!? I missed the whole thing, so I'll just send congratulations instead of well wishes! :cheerleader1: I'm so glad it went well.

Ok - now that Parker is taking a nap...

Surgery day was VERY easy. Parker was sleepy, and kinda oblivious to the fact that he hadn't eaten in many hours until RIGHT before they took him back. There were no delays in getting registered, etc - except for the major blow out he had before we went to the floor where surgery was.

He pooped out his diaper, down his legs, all over me, and all in his car seat! We cleaned that up as best as possible...and I even learned some new uses for baby wipes!

After the mess, we got taken back to pre-op, talked to the surgeon and anesthesiologist, and then my precious baby was taken out of my arms and carried back to surgery. The procedure only took about 45 min. Everything went perfectly - the cyst was drained, taken out, the remnant of cord was removed and the small connection between the cyst and his bladder was clipped closed. He was in Stage 1 recovery for about 45 min then taken to stage 2 and I was able to see him. He was fussy, crying, and pretty pathetic until we got him to eat a little.

Once they were comfortable he was able to keep formula down, they took out his IV, gave him some tylenol and sent us home. I was SO glad he came out awake, alert, and crying...otherwise we might have had to stay longer or even overnight.

Since we've been home, he's peed a lot, eaten some, and been smiling and cooing. I'm very happy and relieved that this is all taken care of, over with, and he's recovering well.

Thanks for all of the prayers, positive thoughts and support!

Only a parent can understand the joy and relief in the phrase "he is peeing". Congrats mama and baby Parker!!!
