Hi! My son is getting older and I want him to enjoy Disneyland before it looses its magic for him but finding time has always been a problem. I was hoping to go during his Winter break, but my sis informed me that it could still be very busy since everyone (school age kids, that is) are on vacation. how busy is Disneyland in Anahrim during the holiday season.

Do you have any recommendations/strategies for when to go?

Is Spring break a better option?

Thanks so much.

Sorry you aren't getting any responses! I've never been to Disneyland, but here are a couple of sites worth checking out:

www.disboards.com (http://www.disboards.com)
www.allears.net (http://www.allears.net)

Both have more info than you could possibly want! I know at Disney WORLD, any school holiday is the busiest time of the year, and also usually has the highest prices. I think Spring Break might be even busier than Christmas, but I'm not positive.

Both winter break and spring break are terrible! If at all possible, go durint the space in between, when the park is at the absolute lowest. I mean you'll almost never have to wait in line. I grew up 10 minutes away from DL, and spent almost every weekend there, and that time was by far the best to go. Just make sure to bring warm clothes for night.

The week between Christmas and New Years is the busiest time I think! If you want to go to experience Christmas in the park go as soon as you can.. right when school lets out but know that it is a busy time! Spring break is very busy too! To be totally honest... we have annual passes and we haven't been lately where we have said "oh, It's empty"... we went in off times when our 1st was little and had such a great trips... maybe in April/May? It hasn't been the same in a LONG time! It's always busy!

We went once during Christmas break and vowed we will NEVER go then again!!!!

If you are comfortable taking him out of school then you will have a less crowded visit!

www.mousesavers.com is also a good site!

I worked at Disneyland for six years & would NEVER, never go during either Christmas break or Spring break. Insane crowds & no fun. January, February, March, even some of April & May (except for Spring break weeks) are good. As are late September, October & early November....to my best recollection anyway.

Every time we go we use Ridemax - and save tons and tons of time in line. It's a downloadable software program where you input the rides you want and it schedules your time based on the shortes wait times. no clue how it works but after using it 3 times, it does!!

We just got back from DL and the tram escort told us that the weeks before Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays are usually slow, and the week after is SUPER busy. I suppose the thought is that parents expect to take their kids during the break subsequent to the holiday so they don't take time off to push going the week before.
