best sound sensor monitor

i have a sony babycall monitor which i love. favorite feature is the sound sensor. the monitor only turns on when the baby is making noise. saves the battery and my ears from the evil hiss. many people can tolerate the hiss but i HATE it. drives me nuts.

i am looking to get a second monitor for my mom's house. is there another monitor with this feature that is cheaper and has good reviews?
